Compendium of Light: Argent Crusade Prayers

Light guide me so I might be an instrument of peace.

Where there is hatred, let me bring love.

Where there is wrong, let me grant forgiveness.

Where there is doubt, let me sow the seeds of faith.

Where there is despair, let me inspire hope.

Where there is sadness, let me spread joy.

Where there is Shadow, let me shine the Light.

Purity of mind

Make my mind once more a tool of the Light,

So it may understand the wrongs and right,

Like a mind reborn, without any prejudice

So must our mind become to talk of justice,

For justice to exist, one must understand,

No tale but the tale of the criminal mind,

Exposing what drove the mind to madness,

Forsaking our Light’s blessing so careless.

With Light’s strength, let us see the moment,

That cast our souls and heart into torment,

Let us find healing in Light’s purest grace,

And a new path that leads to benevolent ways.

May I pass on the wisdom of Light’s glory,

Have its righteous words uttered through me,

So contempt and pain are retained by none,

And have the mercey to see the crime undone.

Blessed is the spot,

and the house,

and the place,

and the city,

and the heart,

and the mountain,

and the refuge,

and the cave,

and the valley,

and the land,

and the sea,

and the island,

and the meadow

where mention of The Eternal Sun hath been made

And its warmth shines down

Purity of heart

The prayer of Roxanne the pure, as passed on by Milly of Lakeshire.

Dear Light, my silent guardian, I beseech thee,

As we listen to another confession, be with me,

Another heart and soul have called for our aid,

Let your blessing be with me in this burden great.

Once more we are asked to carry a sin’s weight,

In a desperate plead for love that couldn’t wait.

Lend me the strength for their burden to be heard,

Let our love be strong enough to mend their hurt,

May the Light’s blessing keep us safe from harm,

So my deepest feelings may yield a cradle warm,

As we nurture the hungering heart, lost in pain.

Lest our suffering and our hurt be all in vain,

May Light’s help make my heart and soul so strong

As their hearts confess to me, what they did wrong.

But until their salvation, let my mouth be wise,

And my heart bleed silent until the sun’s rise,

May my face for them prove stalwart and fair,

My eyes show only love and no tear rest there,

Help me prepare for the that troublesome sleep,

Where I find Light’s comfort and in silence weep.

I tread the path of righteousness.

Though it be paved with broken glass,

I will walk it barefoot;

though it cross rivers of fire,

I will pass over them;

though it wanders wide,

the Light of guides my step.

The light of the eternal sun washes over the land

And the dark flees

As the eternal sun rises it caresses us with its warmth

Bringing with it hope

Last Rites, I

Oh Light, my brother,

Thy child has fallen.

Their soul consumed by darkness.

Their body claimed by the earth.

Their spirit wandering in shadows.

Light, I humbly ask of you,

Protect thy child,

Shield them from the darkness,

Lighten their path,

And show them the way to thy eternal embrace.

Last Rites, II (Good for quick rites)

Child, walk swift now,

For the shadows lurk to claim thy soul.

Child, do not look back,

For the world you have left behind is not yours any longer.

Child, seek out the Light,

For it’s eternal embrace welcomes you.

Do not stray.

Last Rites, III

Light, saviour of souls,

I humbly ask for your child’s forgiveness.

May you guide their soul to your home.

May you forgive them for their sins.

May you grant your mercy on their souls.

And may your judgement be mild.

We send now, our fellow servant,

Onto the path which only you can guide,

The road through shadow and darkness.

To your well deserved rest

Gracious Light.

Surrounds us and all who mourn this day with it’s continuing compassion.

It accepts in us what we cannot even acknowledge.

It has named in us what we cannot bear to speak of.

It holds the memory of what we have tried to forget.

It will hold out to us a glory we cannot imagine.

We pray for <insert name>

That he/she may be reconciled in your embrace and kept safe.

That he/she now be reunited with whom they loved.

Blessed Light, we ask to sustain those left behind with your compassion.

That they not be overwhelmed by their loss.

But have confidence in your goodness.

And find strength to meet the days to come.

So say I.

So say his/her kin.

So say we all.

Last rite II;

Gracious Light,

Shine your rays upon this (wo)man’s path through the Void.

Guide them into your warm embrace, do not let him/her stray.

Grant them peace and solace.

Forevermore.

Holy Light, Protector of all you have created, we raise our hearts to you today for those who have passed out of this mortal life.

In your loving mercy, Holy Light, be pleased to receive them in your heavenly company, and forgive the failings and faults they may have done from mortal frailty.

For all the faithful who have died we pray, but in particular for those dear to us, parents, relatives and friends. Nor do we forget all who did good to us while embraced by life, who helped us by their prayers, sacrifice and example.

Light grant this fighter

a safe journey

as his spirit leaves this world.

Help him to march on

embrace him in your glory

and bring him peace.

Light take care of this man

who fought with honour and glory.

Light, embrace his loved ones

that they may endure these cruel times.

With the gift of remembrance.

I remember all of you.

You are dead but never forgotten,

and you live on within me,

and within those who are yet to come.

Now I lay me down to rest

I know today I did my best

In the Light’s care I’ll be

With it watching over me

Each morning I wake

The eternal sun shining down on me

I have each morning, all I need

Myself, the Light, and those close to me.

For those children inclined towards the Priesthood or a Paladin’s calling:

Bright Light

Golden Light

Shield me and protect me through the night

My day is done

My night’ begun

My dreams before me are found

I sleep in peace

Thank the Light

Bright Light, Warm Light

Take away my fright

Ward me from enemies near

Barrier!

Light Bless and Light keep

Light watch me as I sleep
