Winter’s Veil

Sent to Thanelor at the Dawnspire the package is light and wrapped in red cloth as a present.

Thanelor,

I wasn’t sure what to get you for a while admittedly but i’ve a friend that knows thread and she made a waterproof cloak  for when you walk back and forth from the Dawnspire to home. It’s a nice grey color with a tiny hook on the inside to hang it from. I got Windsong to embroider your name in the inside of the hood of the cloak so nobody will think it’s yours.

I hope it’s helpful to you.

Happy Winter’s Veil,

Tyleril

Lynx delivery: Tyleril

A delivery would come for Tyleril in the upcoming days after Sym took over the smithy. Apparently flowers were once included with the card. Once. The lynx had taken careful cat-like care top tear the heads off of all the flowers. The card remained safe in the envelope in had been put in. Though the Farstrider had little clue of what was going on he tried his best to cheer up the smithy folk

Winter’s Veil

 For @thinariel-farmight

Thina’s gift would arrive wrapped in cloth dyed a deep shade of red and tied with twine to hide the box- carefully sealed  so that it didn’t leak out any hints of magic.  Inside was a dagger that was heavily enchanted and had likely seen many a dark use in it’s day if the remaining hints of it’s enchants were any indication…

Thinariel,

This was used by a friend who pursued the path of darker magical arts. I asked them for something they thought  would be appropriate for a fire mage but they assured me this was good. Stilettos are best used when you fight opponents in chainmail or plate. It can slip between armor plates and if the chainmail had a hole big enough then the stiletto can ensure that they meet a quick demise.

If you can ever manage it go where their joints bend  or slip it between their ribs where the plate doesn’t cover it. Twisting the handle also works as well. If you cannot kill them quickly then jerk sharply to the left or right as hard as you can to break it off inside their body. The dagger has seen use through outlands and northrend alike. I doubt the enchant it once held holds anymore but it is supposed to shatter when broken. The friend that held it called it Spiteshatter for they were always bitter and often said: “Even if they kill me they’ll never forget what i did to them.”

Perhaps you can make it into something better.

Happy Winter’s Veil!

Silversword Forges: A letter sent

tyleril-silversword:

Sent to Symmathan Brightarrow the moment Tyleril was able to, the letter is short, quick and to the point with a simple sentence at the bottom. Such letters without the niceities were as rare as ice in Quel’thalas.

Sym-

The Dawnspire is safe. Windsong isn’t in the infirmary and neither is Razail. A favor- take care of my forge? We cannot shut down with the amount of work we have.

Silvermoon is a funky town.

Tyleril

When the letter arrived Sym quickly broke it open. Next to him was  his old lynx, watching and possibly hoping the letter somehow had food. “Funky…town? FU-Oh!” The short sentence triggered his memory. “Must be bad- alright Naddy, lucky us for accumulating so much off time.” Sym was not a blacksmith by any means of the word but he was charismatic and charming. “Seems like he’s expecting mad customers and paperwork Nads.” The lynx  let out a soft whine and slowly rose up, stretching.

The Hawk was sent back with a quick response.

Ty-

You said the words! You swore you never would in Icecrown but you finally did. Paperwork and charming your customers? I can do that. Still have your book of favors? I’ll eye that and see who owes you. Don’t worry, I don’t know anything about metalsmithing but  I can make sure there’s people there getting the work done. I’ll send something soon for your smiths and you.

Get better alright? Nobody else will heal me for free. I’ll look out for any of your fellow Guard if they come my way.

Symm

He pressed a few coins into the palm of the courier and when they had left Sym grinned at his unimpressed lync. “Don’t give me that naddy. You can lay in the sun all day if you want- let’s head out. If he’s asking for help he needs help.”

Tyleril,

Shahin is a man who prides himself on his skill with a broadsword. I’m sure you’ll understand that it took me a considerable amount of time to figure out what, exactly, you should craft for him. I really liked your idea about fashioning the pommel into a phoenix – obviously any sword you make for him should match the Blood Knight colors, as I doubt he takes that tabard off even when he bathes.

His fighting style is fast, almost impossibly so for someone with plate armor and a broadsword. He moves to make the first strike and get into the defenses of his opponent  before they have a chance to even consider striking back. His strokes are fluid, dexterous – they speak of many years of fighting considerably larger opponents and knowing that to win he has to be not necessarily faster, but more clever than they are.

[ The letter goes on to describe a style full of precision and rather swift moves chained together into deadly strikes. It is described in such detail that it’s clear that the writer sat there and watched for some time before penning the missive. ]

As for the style of his light magic…

Shahin is a person full of anger, and his magic reflects that. I don’t think I’ve ever seen him heal anyone – I’m not even sure if he can. All of his feelings of anger and rage are channeled into his magic, and by extension, his weapon. That weapon is going to need the ability to withstand both temperature and sheer strength of will.

I think his magic may have been beautiful, once. Born to protect, not to kill; but now…I’m not sure if it could ever recover from what’s happened to him, or it. I’m sure you understand.

If you need any more information let me know.
E.

E,

Not everyone is a healer. I’ve seen Shahin fight once and it matches the detail you’ve given me in your letter. I can make metal that will withstand the temperature and magic used in it, extra work will be needed but that is a small thing to do.

I will get back to you when I have made the completed product, should you desire to give it to him yourself.

Light bless,

Tyleril

After the letter had been sent Tyleril carefully gathered everything he needed, shutting his shop down for the day to prepare.

Letter to Bricini Lightwing

Written in Tyleril’s own hand and sent for Bricini.

Bricini,

You may or may not be aware of Razail Dusksinger and his currently missing left ear. We’ve had a discussion and Razail would like to seek treatment to regrow his ear and fix the holes in his cheeks for good. He asked me to send you a letter about it. As of right now he is also mute but that seems to be related to the head trauma he suffered that lost his ear. He can use paper or sign language to communicate in lack of his voice though he is also seeking treatment for that as well.

(I left your other paperwork  beneath your desk so no coffee would spill on it. You’re out of sealing wax.)

Letter to Eeleria

[ Addressed to Tyleril Silversword, this one bears an official seal: the azure of House Silverwing, a raven dipping over ocean waves the sealed image engraved in the wax. The parchment is of good quality, the handwriting – actually a bit terrible, but written with so many exact strokes that it’s as if a very poor writer is trying very hard to make it look nice. ]

Tyleril,

Awhile ago, you made me an offer for a staff of particular importance. At the time, I had told you no; there are other things for me to consider now, and so if you are still interested, I come to you with altered terms. I seek you out under my real name – I don’t want any pretenses involved in this exchange, no pseudonyms. If people are going to talk of it, then I want people to know who I actually am.

So. I will trade you this staff in exchange for two lightforged weapons. One for me, as you had offered before. And then I request one for Shahin as well; I’d prefer it if you made his first, as he’ll get more use out of it more immediately. I can get you the information you require as to specifications if you accept this proposal.

Additionally. I want you to promise me that you’ll keep an eye on it. The staff, I mean. I know Celtrois myself, and while I think that he’ll do good work – that thing, I think it corrupts people. Just make sure nothing happens to him because of it, okay?

Sincerely,

Lady Eleeria Silverwing
Matriarch of the Fairbreeze Cove

Eleeria,

We can make that trade, yes.  Each Lightforged anything is different but it is time-consuming and wearing so I will need to rest in between blades if I am to make them properly. In addition I will need a ore that can withstand the magic that will be channeled into it. it’s become far more common since Deathwing but elementium is what works best.

For Shahin’s blade- a phoenix engraved on the blade? The phoenix could be dyed red and the blade blackened. A nice fuller, perhaps gold engraving to help the phoenix stand out. I’ll need the details of the sword- length, preferred fighting style. The same for your blade as well.

I’ll keep a good eye on it. I won’t let anything happen to Celtrois.
