Alexander: Just Another Day

[Warning: not a lighthearted story. Some arguing.]

Just like any other day, Alexander comes home to the apartment he shares with his twin, their lover, and lover’s sons.  Purchasing groceries after an every other day run around Silvermoon is a normal thing for him to do. His mind doesn’t wander often so long as there are the people he loves to remind him who he is, and where he’s at.

Twin girls babble and yawn sweetly in the room at the end of the hallway.  Their giggles interlace with the wonderful singing of his twin. Their father.

Purring emanates from behind another door in the hallway.  It’s open enough for the three felines to come and go as they please into his cousin’s room, Razail, that he shares with Samiel.

After the groceries are put away, Alexander starts to make dinner for the three adults.  No Tyleril tonight, or Samiel, as both are off doing things and spending tonight away from the apartment.

The smell of fish and vegetables starts to fill the air and soon begins to draw the attention of the trio of cats.  The young man follows them as usual, though just like every day, Razail waits behind the couch with his emerald eyes peeking over to watch.

“Hungry, Razail?”

A nod with a smile is all the answer Alexander receives and it’s enough.  He gathers the plates, silverware, and then serves up three helpings he places on the table.  A fourth plate of just fish is made for the cats and set near their tower so they wouldn’t eat off the table.

TSGWC-9: Alexander & Rai’thas: Preparing for the Cold

razxion:

PROMPT: How does your character deal with weather away from Silvermoon? Do they prepare, or just assume they will find what they need?

“Rai’thas, hold still!” Alexander chases his twin around the room with an enchanted sweater. The paladin ducks and throws his twin over his shoulder onto the bed. “No! I’m not going into Northrend again, let alone ICECROWN!”

“Oh come on, Rai! I’ll be there, Tyleril will be there. Aestus and Windsong too. We won’t let you freeze or get too cold.” The death knight slowly approaches his twin after rolling off of the bed with a sweet smile upon his face. “I’ll make sure the tent, bed, and heater are all working properly right after this.”

Rai’thas sighs and gives in, his twin putting the sweater over his head.

Lynx Delivery: The Twins

A delivery would come for the twins in the upcoming days after Sym took over the smithy. Apparently flowers were once included with the card. Once. The lynx had taken careful cat-like care top tear the heads off of all the flowers. The card remained safe in the envelope in had been put in. Though the Farstrider had little clue of what was going on he tried his best to cheer up the smithy folk.

Razail: Gone?

The explosion in the air of the colliding Legion crafted ships was just as mesmerizing as it was awe inspiring.  The sounds all around suggested things were done; they had won.  On swift footsteps Razail had ran into the Dawnspire, bumped into one very familiar face and couldn’t help himself.

His arms had wrapped around Lazarus so quick it may have surprised him.  He pulled his own mask down and had given Lazarus a quick kiss on the cheek, fearing to have done more.  The mask had returned to his face and he ran off again as quick as he always had been.

Another face, one he grew to know more recently as a relative, an Uncle, and he came up to the demon hunter with a small, hopeful smile on his face.  Monax could recognize him easily now, and offered a brief smile on return as he felt relieved the rogue was okay.  It had gone away quickly though, that smile of his that sat under a blood stained cloth blindfold, and he reaches out to hug Razail.  “Your not gonna like it kid, but Tyleril, Alex and Rai are in that infirmary.  Alex and I.. We couldn’t get Rai’s heart to beat.”

Razail had started to shake, and his smile had been ripped downwards as his his heart started to hurt.  He have Monax the quickest of hugs and was let go.  The illidari walked towards the battlefield as he said one last thing, “I’m really glad you’re okay, kid.”

Razail ran as tears had started to trickle down his face. Though once he got to the infirmary, once he speed Tyleril trying to heal in his obviously wounded state, and the sight of his twin cousins a dark corner.  It was almost to much.  Only one other thing had set him over the edge.

He heard the Greenseer had died.

He swallowed hard before he ran off and away from it all.  Sobbing that had been silenced from his inability to speak could be seen and felt through the shadows that trailed behind and rippled outward.

He ran.

He ran to find Samiel.  To let him at least know someone was coming home, even if it was to just hold the young elf and cry.

Razail wanted his family so desperately, and now he had lost some of them.

Exhaustion: We all fall down

“The day is not yet done. Pavement to cross as there’s w-wounds to boss.” After he left Felo’thore’s bedside he fell had managed to get some sleep, coming back from reynllin’s corpse only briefly. But even that short sleep wasn’t enough. So exhausted still. He could feel his heart beating.

Rai’thas lay in his bed, looking far to pale, fare to wounded. Alexander, sitting next to the bed, hands grasping Rai’thas’s. Still in his beaten and bloody armor he refused to leave his twin. “Going to feel… very bad in the morning.” he managed to Alexander’s sleeping form.

The pot calling the kettle black.

Carefully he leaned obver Rai’thas’s bedside. He almost lost all of them and still Rai’thas needed a mender. His own hands instinctively raised up but as he started to call upon the Light he could feel the strain in his chest, aching pain that came with each beat of his heart. Stiff knees complained loudly as he leaned over to kiss Rai’tha’s forehead. He whispered a soft prayer, simple and sweet but this one was no less heartfelt than the rest.

Light, I humbly ask of you,

Protect thy child,

Shield them from the darkness

Lighten their path

And show them the way back to us once more.”

“I’ll be back. I love you two.” A gentle brush of his calloused hands over Alexander’s soft hair. “Light give you fortitude.” With that short prayer for Alexander he straightened himself. He didn’t want to leave Reynllin for long. Grief felt like it was shredding his heart into pieces. At least Alexander and Rai’thas still breathed. Even if they were wounded it helped ease his heart to know they were still there.

Life would be so much less without Rai’thas and Alexander’s smiles and goofy laughter. Their playfighting, watching them make jabs and egg the other on. It was so rare he slept without the twins on either side of him at home- his mind refused to process what it would be like to sleep in his bed at home alone with only memories of the twins.

He prayed, prayed  and prayed. For Reynllin to somehow return, for the twins, for Aestus, for Felo’thore and Adrianal. For Windsong- he had not seen the Diviner since they had parted before the final battle for the Dawnspire had begun. So many lost and so many more wounded. ignoring his own aches and pains he left the infirmary again to kneel down in front of Reynllin.

The blood that had spilled from Reynllin when he was wounded and as he was taken outside of the infirmary was almost as magical as Reynllin was- is. Is, he corrected. Is, is, is. Flowers of several varieties were growing where Reynllin’s blood had spilt. He looked like he was asleep.

“Please.” Tyleril whispered. “Please wake up.”

🎩Our muses to go costume shopping together

“Really, Tyleril? Really? That’s so…”

“Fitting?” Rai’thas’ voice chimed in, a grin on his face and a barely contained laugh in his voice. Starshield was having far too much fun trying on costumes, though Aestus figured the guy deserved a break. Raising two brand new twins couldn’t be easy even for the solar powered paladin. Rai’thas was no sporting what could only be a succubus’ horns and tail as a costume, Rai’thas swinging the tail around in a wide circle while wriggling his brows as seductively as he could. Meaning, with his wide grin, not very seductively.

“Stereotypical.” Aestus gestured to the simple but large pair of white wings that had been fixed to Tylerils normal robes, his halo only completing the angelic visage.

“I’m your a-angel on the battlefield.” Tyleril placed his hands together palm to palm, allowing some of the Light that resided in his halo to shower him with small sparkles.

“And in the bedroom for the twins, I’m sure.”

Rai’thas grinned wider as Tyleril wheezed slightly, turning a shade of red he was sure a raspberry would be proud of. “What are you going  to the costume party as, Aestus?” Rai’thas nudged Aestus with a wink.

“Oh, something so amazing you won’t even know it’s me!”

“Oh?”

“Yeah. I’m not.”

“Not? Not what?”

“Going.”

“Oh come on…”

Get caught in the rain with my muse

Aestus loved the rain. He loved the way it cooled his skin, ran down his body in rivulets like so many streams. He even liked the way  his hair clung to his shoulders and back in a sodden curtain, the usually white locks turned silver. Especially now that his skin was flushed and covered in sweat from that mornings run, the sudden morning shower that had started was a blessing.

For the blacksmith priest, not so much. Tyleril looked up at the rain in annoyance as it was blown in under the roof above his smithy, making the forge sizzle each time the water splashed onto the hot coals of the bellows. “It’s going to be like this all day, Tyleril.”

“You’re n-not going to actually be working out in this, are you?” Tylerils expression was a mix between the incredulous and curious.

“You bet I am! I’ll take rain over snow any day You though might want to come back to your forges after the rain has stopped.”

He left Tyleril scowling up at the sky with as much force as he could scowl at anything. It was time for lap number ten, perhaps more if the rain kept up. True he would be dripping puddles by the time he got home, but it was worth it.

Ha! This was great.

Music: Who Will Save Us Now by David Chappell

“Hey, Alex.”
“Yes, Rai?”
“Can I ask you something?”
“Of course.  You know I’m here for you.”

As you faced the hordes of undead, you found yourself in a position with a choice: retreat with the others and take the risk of being ambushed; or break off and distract them so the others would have a safer chance of survival.  You, once a great paladin, gave your wife the last kiss you were to ever share, and your last loving breath in the teary and haste filled embrace of your twin.
You, Alexander, prayed to your precious Light and it listened.  You were granted wings that blazed with the same determined fury you held in your heart.  And you soared.  A distraction you were, once paladin of the Light, and as the life faded from your eyes the others did indeed survive.

“… What was it like?”
“What are you referring to?”
“What we haven’t really discussed before.”
“… My time apart from you?”

Risen into the ranks of those you sacrificed yourself against, you fight your former order, your former people, within the merciless cold of a continent too bitter to hold life, but perfect for the dead.  You now wield blood, shadows, and frost in place of the Light you once held so dear to your heart.
You slaughtered numerous foes, Alexander.  You focused your might on those that had dared to expel the ones that fought beside you; and one in turn focused on you.  You were split from your then allies to fight against this foe whose own ferocity matched yours.  It was a stalemate as you both continued to battle, but it was broken with a simple slap across your face and the realization of who you were fighting against.
He found you, Alexander.  He cried tears of joy when you finally realized who you were, and who he was; your twin.
