Compendium of Light: The Charge of Elune

image

Harken ye to the words of the White Lady, known among many names- the mother goddess, the mother moon, the night warrior but most frequently known as Elune.

Whenever you seek wisdom during the night, come together in love and trust and learn of Her, the wise moon. You who search for the mysteries of Azeroth.. The secrets of moonlight and sunlight, of healing and moonfire, the silence of the most distant stars, come unto me and Sheshall whisper to you in the depths of the night.

Approach Her in silence, as a sign you are free from fear, hands held out in supplication. If you are not evil you need not fear Her… for evil has no place in Her presence, and if you seek to use my power with dark intent I shall deny you. For I am Elune, the white Lady in the sky. She is the silence before birth and after death. She is the silver light that illuminates your path in the darkness. She is always there with you, between the stars and watching from above. I was with you at the beginning and She shall be with you in the end. She will meet you at the crossroads, lead you through the darkness, grasping you hands to lead you in the passage between the emerald dream and this world. To those that seek Her out She offers Her grace and love. Yet to the true and dedicate She offers gifts beyond mortal comprehension.

Of you She shall tell you the utter truth of what you are, and in return She might be silent when you ask answers She will not give, know that She will always love you. She will take pride in your triumphs and when you suffer She will weep with you and for you.

Elune speaks to us through the world. She is the silvery light that lights your path at night, the gentle breeze against your cheek and the spray of the ocean. Even when the sky goes dark and you do not see her, do not fear.  Take Elune’s love and hold it in your heart with you everywhere.

Compendium of Light: Elune  and the Nature of Her Worship

image

Taken from an excerpt of a Night Elven Priest’s personal writings:

“Live Fully for that is the purpose of life. Refrain not from your existence. For it is we grow to learn and understand, until such time as we leave our body, spiraling up the lunar pathway to the Emerald Dream and Beyond.

Walk the fields and forests; see the moonwells and be refreshed by the cool winds and touch of the moonlight. The Goddess and White Child sing in the ancient places: The deserted seashore, the wilds ofAzsuna, the roaring waterfalls. We are blessed to feel the moonlight on us and should rever Her, so do Her honor.

Celebrate the rites on the approriate days and seasons, but fear not if one is missed. The Goddess knows and she understands. When you call upon her power, do so when you need it and not for frivolous ends. Know that using her power for cruelty and in anger is a perversion and she shall remind you, with the face of a mother whose heart is broken, that she will not tolerate it.

But for those who love and magnify love, the richness of life and the blessings of Elune will be your reward. Nature will celebrate.

Love Elune, follow in her way and never will you walk alone.”

Hail to the White Lady ! Hail,to the BLue Child!
Hail, Mother and daughter of night!
With elated eyes look on both of us:
send to those sitting here speed!

Hail to you, Elune! Hail,to the Moon goddess!
Hail, to Her that givest to all!
Goodly spells and speech bespeak we from you,
and healing hands, in this life.

-Prayer to Elune

Elune, you are my Goddess,
My longing,
My flowing stream,
My bright moon,
And I bask in your silver light.

The Monk and The Druid: A series

Melithes grew up listening to her mother tell stories of the druids. These stories were the most exciting parts of Melithes’s life in her home deep in the forest. After her mother passed Melithe wanders closer to civilization than she ever has before and is captured by a group of hooded men of ill intent. Now the slave to a necromancer named Richard, Melithes must try to remove the magical collar that prevents her escape and keep her head low. It is a challenge since the Hooded Men are convinced she’s a druid from her mother’s stories.

Melithes finds companionship with the other slave, a mysterious blood elf  drifter named Pelian. A monk and master of bare-handed combat, Pelian is charming, mysterious and wise. Exactly the person Melithes needs to anchor her as her sudden druidic abilities threaten to overwhelm her. Pelian doesn’t mean to become attached but after a daring escape, a trek all over the eastern kingdoms, and hijacking a zeppling together, Melithes is the only thing that reminds him of a home. Together they must return to Quel’thalas to, master Melithes growing power, and try to save their friends and avoid the growing attraction between them.

Three decades have passed since the events of the third book and Melithas is living in moonglade under the watchful eyes of her Shan’do. Plagued by nightmares as she sleeps, she struggles to prove she is no longer a threat and fears she has traded one form of slavery for another. Her relationship with Pelian, now a guard in SIlvermoon, is failing.

Having never confessed their attraction for one another the relationship fractures.

Adrift, Melithas must return to Quel’thalas if she is to have any chance at reversing her dangerous  and quickening descent into madness. There she hopes to find the truth behind her family’s buried past and salvage her relationship with Pelian. What she finds in the Ghostlands will put both of their allegiances to the test.

I am the wind on the sea.
I am the wave of the sea.
I am the bull of seven battles.
I am the eagle on the rock.
I am a flash from the sun.
I am the most beautiful of plants.
I am a strong wild boar.
I am a salmon in the water.
I am a lake in the plain.
I am the word of knowledge.
I am the head of the spear in battle.
I am the Silver Goddess sharing my light.
Who spreads light in the gathering on the hills?
Who can tell the ages of the moon?
Who can tell the place where the sun rests?

Elune be between you and harm in
all the empty places you walk.

Elune, protect and bless these living beings.
Keep them from evil and let them sleep in peace.
