You should never forget to honor the Sunwell. This is, at the very least, the most polite thing you should do as an elf- Whether you call yourself Quel’dorei or Sin’dorei- you should honor the Sunwell. Our birth rite is the arcane and the Light that it gives us. The Sunwell is more than any one elf- more glorious, more powerful, and more beautiful- and this should be recognized.
If you can make the trip to Quel’danas yourself you can watch her Priests and guardians as they repeat their prayers and rituals. To watch them perform them is ecstatic and after is normally followed by a period of silent contemplation.
Not everyone, but some will offer their own prayers or gifts up to the Sunwell. When I visited last there were a few scattered areas where gifts of coin, mana crystals, and gems were left. I’ve also seen memorials to the fallen there, statues and graveyards for the dead. Even bricks around the memorials will have names. They often went like this:
[name] Dedicates this in [name]. May he/she/they walk forever in the light of the sun.
Or
Dedicated in remembrance/honor to [name] who sacrificed their life for their people.
If you cannot make the trip to Quel’danas there are many memorials and small areas where you can see the Sunwell. My favorite one lies at the docks where the boats can take you to Quel’danas. A statue of two elves and their family, fallen in the third war with the dedication written in the stone at their feet.
[I thought of you and the children today with love but that is nothing new
I thought of you yesterday and the days before too
I think of you and the children in silence as I often stare at your picture frames.
All I have left are your memories and your smiling faces framed.
Those memories are keepsake with which I’ll never part.
Forever yours as you’re always in my heart
-Your Husband ]
Never forget to honor the Sunwell.
